Vietnam targets to win 150 gold medals at the upcoming SEA Games

(VOVWORLD) - A send-off ceremony for the Vietnamese sports delegation to SEA GAMES 31 took place at the National Sports Training Center in Hanoi on Thursday.

Prior to the departure meeting, the delegation held an incense-offering ceremony at President Ho Chi Minh monument in the Athletes Square. An art performance was organized, involving famous artists and athletes of the national team.

The delegation is comprised of 1,341 members and is led by Tran Duc Phan, Deputy Head of the General Department of Physical Training and Sports. The track and field team has the highest number of members, 86 members including 65 athletes. 

The Vietnamese delegation will participate in all 40 sports at the tournament and has set the goal of topping the medal rankings with about 150 gold medals.
