The vaccine batch was analyzed and appraised by Russia's’ National Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology Gamaleya as meeting standard requirements.
Dr. Do Tuan Dat, Chairman of Vabiotech, said the launch of this first batch of vaccine will enable Vietnamese people to access a quality vaccine source and contribute to defeating the COVID-19 pandemic. As planned, Sputnik V produced by Vabiotech will be used in the National Immunization Program.
Vabiotech has partnered with the Russian Direct Investment Fund to produce the Sputnik V vaccine in Vietnam. The initial test batch came out in July and samples were sent back to Gamaleya for quality control.
