During their meeting in Hanoi on December 7, 2021, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and Lao National Assembly President Xaysomphone Phomvihane underscore the special relationship between the two countries.

During a reception for visiting Lao National Assembly President Xaysomphone Phomvihane in Hanoi on Tuesday, Mr. Trong said he believes that Laos will continue to gain greater achievements in the future.

The Party leader called on the National Assemblies of Vietnam and Laos to enhance mutual support in multilateral forums and work closely to celebrate Vietnam-Laos Friendship Year 2022.

The two leaders pledged to do all they can to nurture and advance the fruitful relations between the two countries.

They described the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos as an invaluable shared asset of the two Parties and peoples, as well as a vital factor and a crucial resource for each country’s national construction and defense.
