Speaking at the 3rd Conference of the 5th Executive Committee for the 2023–2028 term, in Hanoi on Tuesday, Chinh said VAVA chapters nationwide have carried out numerous practical activities this year in support of Agent Orange/dioxin victims. They have intensified communication campaigns, mobilized resources, and expanded programs to care for and assist the victims, showing the strong sense of responsibility and determination within the association.
Notably, VAVA’s external affairs efforts have made significant progress. The association has worked with more than 60 international delegations to strengthen global support and assistance. It also sent working missions to Europe and Japan to rally international public opinion in support of ongoing legal actions and the fight for justice for Agent Orange/dioxin victims.
VAVA representatives also participated in conferences and seminars on anti-war efforts and campaigns against A and H bombs which have helped build trust, mobilize resources, and create livelihoods for victims.
Lieutenant General Nguyen Huu Chinh said in 2026, VAVA will continue to prioritize communication to advance the pursuit of justice for Agent Orange victims: “In 2026, we will renew our strategies for mobilization and resource coordination to secure the best possible support for Agent Orange/dioxin victims. On the occasion of the ‘65th Anniversary of the Agent Orange Disaster,’ we will organize a program under the message: ‘From Tragedy to a Journey of Healing.’ This aims to build social consensus and deepen awareness domestically and internationally. Based on this momentum, we will implement more concrete and practical measures, guided by the principle: ‘Closer to the victims, supporting them more effectively.’”
