Speaking during talks in Hanoi on Tuesday with Robert Kaliňák, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Slovakia, who is on an official visit to Vietnam, Minister Giang expressed hope that Slovakia would soon appoint a Defense Attaché to Vietnam.

The two sides exchanged views on regional and global developments, as well as issues of mutual concern.

Minister Giang suggested both sides focus on cooperation in United Nations peacekeeping operations, expand cooperation in training, especially in Slovak and Vietnamese languages and in areas of the two sides’ strengths.

Vietnam is ready to receive Slovak officers for Vietnamese language courses and for participation in the International Defense Officers Program, Mr. Giang said.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Kaliňák agreed to appoint a Slovak Defense Attaché to Vietnam and proposed that the two countries further strengthen cooperation in the defense industry, delegation exchanges at all levels, and cybersecurity.
