(VOVworld) – Vietnam has signed cooperative agreements with 9 countries regarding the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, according to statistics announced at the 3rd Asian Nuclear Power Briefing that opened in Hanoi on Thursday. Vietnam has also participated in many international legal documents relating to this matter.
Vietnam is upgrading its infrastructure in preparation for the construction and operation of nuclear power plants including that in Ninh Thuan province, said Tran Viet Thanh, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology: "The briefing is a great venue for participants to share information and expertise in the field, seek cooperative opportunities, and promote mutual understanding. This will help newcomers, including Vietnam, to implement their nuclear power programs effectively to ensure energy security, boost socio-economic development, and reduce gas emissions."
