The document will be submitted to UNESCO for consideration in 2019, one year before the anniversary.
Born in Hanoi in 1292, Chu Van An was famous as a straightforward man who passed the doctoral examination but refused to become a mandarin. Instead, he opened a school and began his career as a teacher. He was then assigned to teach a crown prince. After he died in 1370, Chu Van An was worshipped at Hanoi’s Temple of Literature, the first university in Vietnam.
