Vietnam seeks to boost seafood export to Australia

(VOVWORLD) -President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Tran Thanh Man said Vietnam will hold dialogues to boost the export of products from Vietnam’s 100 seafood producers to Australia.

At a reception in Sydney this week, for Norman Grant, President of the Seafood Importers Association of Australia, Man called on the Association to import Vietnam’s shrimps and catfish. He said he believes that Vietnamese products will meet the more stringent demands worldwide.

Grant said Australia wants the Vietnam Fatherland Front to supervise seafood producers in ensuring biological safety before exports and that 35 types of virus which may be contracted by shrimps should be strictly screened. He called on Vietnamese seafood producers to improve product quality to meet the stricter requirements from Australia.
