Vietnam reports 94 new COVID-19 infections, 1 more death Saturday noon

(VOVWORLD) - 94 new COVID-19 infections were reported in Vietnam from 6 am to noon Saturday, according to the Health Ministry.

Among them, 3 were imported cases, 65 were reported in Bac Giang province, 15 in Ho Chi Minh City, 8 in Bac Ninh, 2 in Ha Tinh, and 1 in Tien Giang. Over the past 12 hours, Vietnam has reported 171 infections, including 5 imported cases.

Vietnam recorded its 52nd coronavirus death Saturday afternoon, bringing the fatality tally in its latest Covid-19 wave to 17.

The deceased patient is a 35-year-old woman from the northern province of Lang Son. She has had late-stage colon cancer which metastasized to her lungs, and was treated with chemotheraphy five times in Hanoi's K Hospital.

So far, 3,242 out of 8,458 COVID-19 patients have recovered, and 52 have died.
