Vietnam records an additional 16,000 cases of COVID-19 per day

(VOVWORLD) - From 4:00 p.m. on Thursday to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, Vietnam recorded 16,040 new infections, of which 14 were imported and 16,026 were recorded domestically, down 674 cases compared to the previous day.

4,290 recoveries were announced in the past 24 hours, raising the total number of recoveries to 1,666,220. 171 deaths were recorded on Friday.

Since the onset of the pandemic, Vietnam’s caseload has hit 1,991,484, ranking 28 out of 224 countries and territories, while with the ratio of infections per million people, Vietnam ranks 143 (20,181 cases per 1 million people on average).

By 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Vietnam had administered 165,524,173 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. On Thursday alone, 1,041,860 doses were injected. The coverage rate of at least 1 dose of vaccine is 100%, the rate of full basic dose is 93.4% and the rate of booster dose is 13.1% of the population aged 18 years and older.
