Vietnam records 16,000 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday

(VOVWORLD) -The Ministry of Health said that from 4pm on Sunday to 4pm on Monday, 15,936 new infections were recorded in Vietnam. 20 cases were imported and the rest were recorded domestically in 60 provinces and cities.

On Monday, 24,461 patients were given the all clear, 190 people died.

Since the onset of the pandemic, Vietnam’s total caseload has reached 1,778,976, ranking 31 out of 224 countries and territories, while with the ratio of infections per 1 million people, Vietnam ranks 138.

The total number of cured cases is 1,397,157. The death toll from COVID-19 in Vietnam so far has stood at 33,021, accounting for 1.9% of the total number of infections.

A total of 153.59 million COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered, of which the number of 2nd dose administered was 69.28 million, while  6.51 million 3rd doses were administered.

Vietnam has recorded the one-dose vaccination rate of 99.6% and two-dose vaccination rate of 90.9% of the population aged 18 years and older.
