Speaking at the 65th session of the Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO), held from Monday to Wednesday in Vienna, Hoang reiterated Vietnam’s consistent position of promoting the peaceful use of nuclear energy while ensuring safety and compliance with International Atomic Energy Agency standards.

Ambassador Hoang said Vietnam will chair the 11th Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT RevCon 2026) in New York, pledging to foster balance, build consensus, and strengthen links between the NPT process and complementary mechanisms such as the CTBT. Vietnam is set to hold consultations with regional groups in Vienna from November 24 to 25.
Hoang said Vietnam will continue to coordinate with the CTBTO and its members to promote multilateralism, ensure geographical balance, and encourage greater participation of women and youth in CTBTO activities to approach the shared goal of a world free of nuclear weapons.
