(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam ranks 44th out of 132 countries and economies in the Global Innovation Index 2021 and is one of four middle-income economies with the potential to change the global innovation landscape.

United Nations' World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) on Monday released the GII 2021 report which  mentioned Vietnam together with Turkey, India and the Philippines for catching up with global innovation momentum.

Vietnam continues to hold the top position in the group of 34 lower-middle-income countries included in this year’s GII ranking list, according to an online seminar organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology on Tuesday.

The 2021 Global Innovation Index, issued by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), ranks the innovative performance of world economies based on seven factors: human capital and research, knowledge and technology output, infrastructure, market sophistication, business sophistication, creative outputs and institutions.
