Vu The Binh, Chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association, said that Vietnam is emerging as a strong and developed country, with tourism playing a key role in the national economy. The number of international visitors to Vietnam has been steadily increasing, particularly those from South Korea and the Philippines, he noted.

Vietnam will also promote outbound tourism, encouraging more Vietnamese travelers to visit South Korea and the Philippines in the near future, Mr. Binh added.

At the meeting, participants discussed their products and services, focusing especially on eco-tourism, spiritual tourism, leisure, and golf - the key strengths of the North Central region.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Tourism Association and the Philippine Travel Agencies Association signed a commitment to support tourism promotion activities.

In the first nine months of this year, Vietnam welcomed more than 15 million foreign tourists, up 21.5% year-on-year. Among them, arrivals from South Korea reached 3.2 million, while visitors from the Philippines totaled 337,000, marking a record 92% growth.
