At a meeting with the Philippine Ambassador to Vietnam Meynardo Los Banos Montealegre in Hanoi on Thursday, General Secretary To Lam urged the Ambassador to further promote bilateral cooperation in politics, diplomacy, security and defense and strengthen economic connectivity to bring two-way trade to 10 billion USD.

Lam affirmed that Vietnam will actively support the Philippines in successfully assuming the role of Chair of ASEAN in 2026 and will work closely with the Philippines and ASEAN countries towards a united, self-reliant and sustainable ASEAN.
Ambassador Meynardo Los Banos said the Philippine Embassy will do its utmost to promote the Strategic Partnership between the two countries in a deeper, and more sustainable and effective manner.
