The Vietnam Academy of Science of Technology Thursday inaugurated a DNA Identification Center to help verify unidentified soldiers’ remains.  Vice President of the Academy Pham Ngoc Minh said: “This is the first center in Vietnam offering DNA testing at international standards. The Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, the Institute of Biotechnology, and the DNA Identification Center will fulfill its tasks and meet the aspiration of the Party, State, and people to verify the remains of unidentified soldiers. It’s a way to pay tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for the nation.”

At the inaugural ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam asked the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology to enhance genomic study to serve scientific, economic, and social activities.
