The sector expects to earn 17 billion USD from exports this year, up 15% from 2015. Phan Thi Thanh Xuan, Secretary General of the Vietnam Leather, Footwear and Handbag Association, said: “The state should devise support policies and tariff incentives as well as establish industrial parks to reduce cost and develop supply chains. Instructions are needed to implement the decree on developing support industries to match business needs.”
