The recommendation was made by Vietnamese National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan at a working session with visiting Lao National Assembly Chairwoman Pany Yathotou in Hanoi on Tuesday.

Ms. Ngan congratulated Laos on its achievements and said she believes the Lao people will continue to prosper under the leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the Government, and the National Assembly. The two sides discussed joint oversight of free migration and undocumented marriage in border areas of Vietnam and Laos in 2019.

The Lao official’s visit is a follow-up to a meeting between the two Political Bureaus and the 41st session of the Vietnam-Laos Inter-Governmental Committee co-chaired by the two Prime Ministers early this year.
