(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Wednesday visited former Party General Secretary and President of Laos Choummaly Sayasone, former Party General Secretary and President of Laos Bounnhang Vorachith and former Prime Minister of Laos Thongsing Thammavong.

Prime Minister Chinh emphasized that Vietnam always gives top priority to the special solidarity relationship between Vietnam and Laos, considering it an invaluable asset of the revolutionary cause of the two countries. He affirmed that he will continue to inherit the good tradition of previous generations of leaders, do his best to constantly cultivate the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation with Laos.

The former leaders of Laos suggested that Vietnam and Laos strengthen cooperation and exchange of experiences to help in socio-economic stabilization and development, continue to foster the special friendship, constantly improve cooperation efficiency and effectively implement agreements between the two countries. They urged for attention to educating the two peoples, especially the young generation, the tradition of special relations and faithful bond between the two countries.

Later on Wednesday, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Chairman of the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Association Boviengkham Vongdara and the Executive Board of the Association. He suggested the Vietnam-Laos and Laos-Vietnam Friendship Associations establish friendship branches in localities, and adopt new, specific and creative forms of exchange to contribute to strengthening the great friendship between the two peoples.
