Vietnam, Laos celebrate 70 years of combat alliance

(VOVWORLD) - An arts program was held at the Vietnam-Laos international cemetery in Anh Son district, Nghe An province, on Monday to mark 70 years of the two countries’ combat alliance.

The event was organized by Nghe An authorities, the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association, VOV, and VTC television.

Addressing the event, Politburo member and Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Tong Thi Phong said solidarity has become a priceless asset which constitutes the miraculous strength of Vietnam and Laos. She said the Vietnamese and Lao Party, state, and people have developed their ties in all fields, particularly politics, economics, culture, education, defense, security, and diplomacy.

Mrs. Phong urged Nghe An province to focus on improving local people’s lives, developing tourism, and promoting ethnic cultural values.
