Vietnam keen on ensuring human rights in all aspects

Addressing the High-level Segment of the 49th Regular Session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland, on Wednesday, the Vietnamese top diplomat reaffirmed Vietnam's desire to contribute through its candidacy for the United Nations Human Rights Council membership for the term 2023-2025 with the message "Respect for each other. Dialogue and Cooperation. Ensuring human rights for all”.

Vietnam affirms its willingness to cooperate with relevant parties to promote the principles of the United Nations Charter and international law, enhance the performance of the Human Rights Council through dialogue, cooperation and mutual respect, he said.

Vietnam is keen on ensuring human rights in all aspects, with priority given to protecting the rights of vulnerable groups, gender equality and ensuring human rights in solving global problems, especially in response to climate change.

Vietnam prioritizes promoting the right to health in the context of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and infectious diseases, the right to decent work associated with the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the right to quality education based on equity of opportunity and access, said FM Son.
