Addressing the UN General Assembly’s 11th Emergency Special Session on the Ukrainian situation on Monday, the Ambassador emphasized that the current top priority is ending conflict, restoring peace, and protecting security and safety of civilians and civil infrastructure facilities in Ukraine.

The parties need to persistently promote dialogue and negotiation to find a lasting peaceful solution to disagreements on the basis of conformity and respect for international law and the United Nations Charter, taking into account the legitimate interests and concerns of relevant parties, for peace and stability of the region and the wider world, he said.

The Ambassador added that Vietnam is deeply aware of the importance of overcoming the consequences of war to rebuild the country, maintain sustainable peace and stabilize people's lives.
