At the meeting on Tuesday during Deputy PM Hue’s working visit to Myanmar, the two sides praised recent economy-trade-investment growth and finance-banking cooperation between Vietnam and Myanmar. Their bilateral trade totalled 860 million USD in 2018, making Vietnam Myanmar’s 9th largest trade partner, the report said.

At a meeting with Vietnamese expatriates in Yangon, Mr. Hue said Myanmar is focused on strengthening its Comprehensive Cooperative Partnership with Vietnam. He urged Vietnamese people in Myanmar to abide by local laws, unite, and contribute to the two countries’ relationship.

Deputy PM Hue told Vietnamese enterprises that he and Mr. Soe had pledged to create more favorable conditions for Vietnamese and Myanmar companies and set a trade target of 1 billion USD by 2020.
