(VOVWORLD) - A forum to promote foreign investment in Vietnam themed “A new era of digital transformation and green transition” took place in London on Wednesday as part of Vietnam Days in the UK 2022.

Participants discussed the potential for investment in digital technology, fin-tech, renewable energy, and green transition in Vietnam and opportunities for Vietnamese businesses to access financial sources from the UK for green development projects.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Quoc Khanh said that in the next 5-10 years Vietnam will undergo a rapid digital transformation.

He said that the recent boom in online payments driven by fin-tech firms has made Vietnam confident about achieving substantial digital transformation in the near future.

Mr. Khanh underlined Vietnam’s potential for investments in green and sustainable energy, particularly wind and solar energy, and said the UK can become a leading investor in Vietnam with projects for digital transformation and green, clean energy, areas that are becoming increasingly important and have a strategic influence on development around the world.
