Addressing a ceremony marking five years of the Vietnam-India comprehensive strategic partnership in New Delhi on Friday, National Assembly Chairman Hue suggested that the two countries closely coordinate to well implement the Action Program 2021-2023, implement the comprehensive strategic partnership and the shared Vision for Peace, Prosperity and People approved in December 2020.

“This important event is the beginning of many activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and India in 2022. At this moment, I am reminded of the statement of President of India, Pranab Mukherjee, while visiting Vietnam and inaugurating the Center for Indian Studies at the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics on September 15, 2014. He said: “The relationship between the two countries has never been in a good time like today… In order to protect the shared interests such as peace and prosperity, India and Vietnam must stand side by side… India will always be Vietnam's trusted and faithful friend.” The statement of the Indian President is also the will of the people of Vietnam and India,” Mr. Hue said.

“With all my faith and deep affection for the country and people of India, I believe that our friendship will grow deeper and richer.”

On the same day, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue opened a photo exhibition reviewing 50 years of their diplomatic relations between Vietnam and India, which will fall in January 2022.

Indian Foreign Minister, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, presented National Assembly Chairman Hue with a documentary photo of President Ho Chi Minh speaking at the Headquarters of the Foreign Relations Council of India 64 years ago.
