The meeting took place in absolute safety. Leaders of the US and the DPRK as well as foreign reporters were warmly welcomed. Vietnam left a deep impression of “high sense of responsibility” in organizational work. Minister Mai Tien Dung said at a regular government meeting with the press in Hanoi on Friday: “Vietnam hosted the summit at its best. The two guest delegations have felt Vietnam is a peaceful and developing country. The world has been more informed of Vietnam, its culture, and people. We have showed our hospitality and respect, and ensured absolute safety for the summit.”

By hosting the summit, Vietnam has showed it is a responsible member of the international community and worked hard to contribute to peace process on the Korean peninsula and to creating new progress in DPRK-US ties.

Deputy Minister Culture, Sports, and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy said Vietnam has promoted its image worldwide. She added: “The tourism sector has created an image of Vietnam as a safe and friendly destination. This result is not achieved by paying a lot of money. We will instruct the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism to continue activities to promote Vietnamese culture and people through Vietnam Days in other countries.”
