Vietnam hopes to deepen relationship with RoK

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam values its cooperative ties with the Republic of Korea (RoK) and hopes to deepen their relationship in a more practical and effective manner, said National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue during a reception in Seoul on Monday as part of his official visit to the Republic of Korea. The statement was for Choi Jae-sung, who is a lawmaker from the Democratic Party of Korea and former political advisor to President Moon Jae-in.

The top Vietnamese legislator noted that Vietnam welcomes the RoK government’s implementation of the New Southern Policy, with special attention paid to cooperation with Vietnam.

Mr. Hue added Vietnam is willing to support the RoK to penetrate more deeply into the Southeast Asian market. Hailing contributions that Mr. Choi has made to the development of relations between the two countries, Mr. Hue expressed his hope that the Korean lawmaker will continue promoting the bilateral partnership in all fields, including defence, security, trade, investment, and people-to-people exchange.

Underlining the RoK’s special attention to global supplies, Mr. Choi said that the RoK hopes to cooperate with Vietnam in new industrial sectors to help stabilize global supply chains.

The same day, Chairman Hue received CEO of Hanwha Energy Corporation Jung In-sub, Daewoo E&C President and CEO Kim Hyung, and Chairman and CEO at Korea Development Bank Dong-Gull Lee.

Mr. Hue expressed his wish for Korean enterprises to enhance cooperation, share experiences and transfer technology to Vietnamese partners for clean energy projects, building smart urban areas, banking, and credits.
