He made his appeal at an open debate on women, peace, and security (WPS) by the UN Security Council on Tuesday, calling women’s full, equal economic participation a key to peacekeeping and peacebuilding.

He underlined the need to strengthen public-private partnerships as well as collaboration among UN members and NGOs in experience sharing, mobilization of resources, and enhancing the capacity of women.

Ambassador Giang said that Vietnam has pledged to work with the international community to leverage women’s role in development, peacebuilding, and post-conflict reconstruction.
