Vietnam will send a team of 51 of the nation’s brightest. 11 students from the Hanoi Vocational College of High Technology are now training for the competition, said Principal Pham Xuan Khanh: "Our students will compete in 6 skills including electronics, automation, network management, beauty care, and hair styling. All the candidates are undergoing a long training and their good health is being maintained.We encourage them to show their creativity during their training to achieve the best possible results."

Duong Duc Lan , Head of the General Department of Vocational Training under the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, said all colleges are following the competition rules regarding training. This will be Vietnam’s 2nd participation in the competition. It first participated in 2004. The ASEAN skills competition is held every two years.
