Throughout the history, Mr. Hue said the Party and State have always attached great importance to the role and position of culture.

The 13th National Party Congress in 2021 outlined major development orientations for the country over the course of the coming decades, with a specific focus on comprehensive human development and the building of an advanced culture imbued with national identity, thereby turning culture into a driving force for national development and defense.

Completing institutions and policies, arousing people’s aspirations to develop a prosperous and happy nation, and turning Vietnamese cultural values and human strength, solidarity and national pride are the key tasks and strategic breakthroughs in the future development period, Mr. Hue said.

He underlined the necessity to renew the state management institution in culture along with completing the legal system in the direction of improving the efficiency of culture management in accordance with a socialist-oriented market economy.

“Focus should be made on the role of people in culture development, especially setting up a self-governing mechanism for social communities, operation, and infrastructure equipping for the institutions. It’s also necessary to increase the decentralization to encourage the cultural sector’s dynamism, creativity, and initiative in management, ensuring the requirements in comprehensive multi-sectoral management, especially the cultural industry,” said Mr. Hue.
