(VOVworld) – Vietnam’s garment and textile exports have continued to record relatively high growth. Export revenues by December have reached 19 billion USD. High growth rates have been recorded in traditional markets such as the US, the EU, Japan, and the Republic of Korea. According to Secretary General of the Vietnam Textile and Garment Association Dang Phuong Dung, Vietnam’s garment and textile exports will likely earn 24.5 billion USD, up 19% from last year: “We expect to achieve the goal of 24 billion USD set by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, one year ahead of schedule. Vietnam’s negotiations for the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement and free trade agreements with the EU and the Customs Union have lured more investment in garments and textiles. Once these agreements are signed, they will benefit the garment and textile sector considerably.”

Vietnam’s garment and textile sector is shifting its focus to ASEAN and India.
