The plant will manufacture commercial vehicles under the Skoda brand, one of the oldest automobile manufacturers in the Czech Republic.

At the inauguration, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien called on the two groups need to spread their development model through cooperation programs and plans to support domestic enterprises, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, and engage them in the production stages and supply chains.

“In addition, it’s necessary to organize more training courses for Vietnamese partners, thus improving the production capacity and competitiveness of Vietnamese enterprises,” said Dien.

The plant has a designed capacity of 120,000 vehicles per year.
