Vietnam, Cuba tighten special political relations and comprehensive cooperation

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son spoke highly of the results of Deputy Minister-level political consultation with Cuba at a reception Tuesday for Cuba’s visiting First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Gerardo Peñalver Portal.

Portal is in Vietnam for the seventh political consultation between the two foreign ministries to review the bilateral agenda and reach consensus on measures strengthening bilateral ties.

The foreign affairs ministries of Vietnam and Cuba agreed to prepare for high-level exchanges this year and next and improve cooperation mechanisms to strengthen economic, trade, and investment ties.

Mr. Son urged both sides to facilitate the exchange of high-level delegations and visits by ministries, agencies and businesses, reinforce bilateral trade and investment, and offer all possible support to Vietnamese enterprises to do business in Cuba.

Portal said Cuba wants to deepen its special relationship and comprehensive partnership with Vietnam.

He thanked the Vietnamese Party, State, and people for supporting Cuba in its national construction and development.
