Vietnam contributes to international peace and security

(VOVWORLD) - Ambassador and Head of the Vietnamese Mission at the UN, Nguyen Phuong Nga, told the UN  High-Level Meeting on Peacebuilding and Sustaining Peace in New York this week that the UN should have comprehensive approach to humanity in policy building and implementation for partnership, peace and sustainable development and conflict prevention.

Vietnam welcomed initiatives in UN reform to conduct its mandate of peace keeping and development goals support for member states. She reiterated Vietnamese commitment to international and regional peace and security while pursuing a constant policy of resolving disputes, including the East Sea, peacefully based on international law, including the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea. She also said that Vietnam respects diplomatic and legal proceedings towards a Code of Conduct for Parties in the East Sea.
