Over the past 76 years, National Day, September 2, has been a constant reminder of the country’s hard struggle for national liberation and independence and consolidated people’s trust in the path chosen by the Communist Party of Vietnam and President HCM.
On this occasion, the People newspaper said the 1945 August Revolution has added enormous material and spiritual values to the nation and each individual in Vietnam. This year’s National Day celebrations take place when Vietnam is facing the devastating COVID-19 pandemic. Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has appealed the entire Party, people, and army to join forces to fight the pandemic. Unprecedented policies and mechanisms to ensure social welfare, combat the epidemic, and maintain economic growth have been activated. The national reserve has been used to support affected people. The armed forces and the entire health sector have been mobilized to ensure safety and well-being of the people. Vietnam is also gearing up to produce its own COVID-19 vaccines, People newspaper noted.
The People’s Army newspaper said the fight against COVID-19 has proved a ruling Party and a State for the people in Vietnam. Apart from timely and wise anti-pandemic measures, Party and State leaders have regularly visited hotspots to direct the fight and encourage frontliners and people.
The paper underlined that political stability is a great advantage for Vietnam’s development. With the unity of the whole political system and the people, COVID-19 will be contained and life will be back to normal soon, it said.
