Vietnam calls on parties in Afghanistan to seek comprehensive political solution

(VOVWORLD) - The UN Security Council convened on Thursday for a regular meeting on the situation in Afghanistan, where its members expressed concerns over the recent developments in the country and called on all relevant parties in Afghanistan to fully comply with international humanitarian and human rights.

At the meeting, Ambassador Dang Dinh Quy, Vietnam’s Permanent Representative to the UN, called on all parties involved in Afghanistan to restrain, not to use force, and seek a comprehensive political solution.

He spoke highly of the efforts by the UN and the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), calling for all parties in Afghanistan to respect and show full cooperation with the mission to complete its tasks for the long-term interest of the Afghani people.
