At a program to mark the Day for Vietnamese victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Hanoi on Friday night, Mr. Rinh said Vietnam has made strenuous effort to overcome the consequences of Agent Orange/Dioxin sprayed by the US Army during the war in Vietnam. He said: “On this occasion, I call on the US government and chemical companies to seriously take responsibility and take concrete actions in addressing the consequences of the chemical warfare in Vietnam. I call on people of all social strata to support our program by sending a SMS texting “dacam” to 1409.”
4.8 million Vietnamese people were exposed to Agent Orange/Dioxin and more than 3 million people were victims of the chemical.
