(VOVworld) – The Baltic countries will boost cooperation with Vietnam at international organizations and forums, especially at the United Nations and the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM).

The remark was made at a meeting of a Vietnamese delegation, led by Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son, and leaders of the three Baltic states’ foreign and economic ministries. A visit from June 26 to July 3 marks 20 years of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and the three Baltic states of Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania. The Baltic leaders said they will support Vietnam in East Sea issues and agree with Vietnam that disputes should be settled by peaceful means based on international laws, particularly the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.

They also agreed to promote the exchange of delegations to create momentum for cooperation in economics, trade, education, and marine transport.
