(VOVworld) – Vietnam has always attached great importance to developing comprehensive cooperation with the US not only at the bilateral but also regional and global level.

The President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thien Nhan met with US ambassador to Vietnam Ted Osius.

While meeting with the US ambassador to Vietnam Ted Osius on Wednesday in Hanoi, the President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thien Nhan expressed his pleasure at the development of Vietnam-US relations since the normalization of bilateral ties. Mr. Nhan spoke highly of the US’s rebalancing policy in the Asia-Pacific, which contributes to peace and stability in the region, as well as US’s support on the issue of climate change. He affirmed that Vietnam would actively participate in future UN peace-keeping activities. Ambassador Osius also said that Vietnam and the US have cooperated in regional and global issues such as climate change, trade, investment and peace-keeping activities. He added that the two sides have worked to complete negotiations on the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement, after which the US hopes to be the top investor in Vietnam.
