(VOVworld)-Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong has endorsed the Politbureau's Resolution No 13 on IT application for modernization and industrialization. The resolution emphasized the role of IT application in turning Vietnam into a basic industrial country by 2020. Speaking in a workshop in Hanoi on the issue this Saturday, delegates agreed that IT development is a shortcut for Vietnam to become an advanced country. Minister of Information and Communications, Nguyen Bac Son:“Ministries and provinces should develop their action programs to implement Resolution No 13 on IT development in line with the government’s action programs. A skillful IT workforce of international standards must be developed through appropriate training programs. We should have robust IT companies to master IT and ensure information safety to foster national sovereignty on cyber space and digital resources.”

Vietnam aims to become one of the world top ten software suppliers with IT revenue contributing up to 10% of the GDP by 2020.
