The Fatherland Front President Do Van Chien emphasized the severe losses caused by the 4th wave of the pandemic since late April and recalled the rapid response to Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong’s appeal when thousands of frontline workers have worked days and nights in pandemic hotspots. He said people living in quarantine and lockdown areas are badly in need of support.

“The Vietnam Fatherland Front calls on all public servants, the armed forces, businesses, and workers in all economic sectors as well as overseas Vietnamese and religious clerics to uphold national unity and make contribution in kind and in cash, no matter large or small in terms of financing, medical equipment, food and staples to help the pandemic control,” said Chien.

Donations worth nearly 13 million USD from more than 30 organizations and individuals have been committed following the appeal .
