According to a press release from the British and German Governments, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron, and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz called for a “quick visit” to the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant in Ukraine by independent inspectors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Zaporizhzhia, Europe’s largest nuclear power plant, has been under Russian control since March. The nuclear site has in recent days been hit by several military attacks, with Russia and Ukraine accusing each other of shelling the plant.
