White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki, in a statement on Thursday, thanked APEC for accepting the US’s offer to host, and said President Biden’s administration is committed to advancing fair trade, open investments, and competition as part of its effort to expand and deepen economic ties in the region.

She said it is a top priority for the US to be a strong, reliable partner to APEC and find ways to unleash economic opportunity, prosperity, and growth for all.
