At the reception in Hanoi, Mr. Dung said that the Vietnamese Government always encourages and facilitates the participation of domestic and foreign firms in power projects in Vietnam.

He said investment should be in line with Vietnam’s electricity planning and transmission system.

Mr. Dung insisted that Vietnam considers the US one of its leading partners and believes  American investment in Vietnam will help improve the trade balance between the two countries.

The investors said they want to invest in LNG power projects in Vietnam to develop clean energy, meet energy needs, and expand the number of skilled workers in the gas sector.
