North Korean leader Kim Jong-un recently said his country feels no need for dialogue with the US or South Korea. NSC coordinator for strategic communications John Kirby said the goal is the complete, verifiable denuclearization  of the Korean Peninsula, and he believes there's still a diplomatic path forward to this.

Kirby said the US remains focused on bilateral and trilateral cooperation with South Korea and Japan during this hiatus in dialogue with the North.
