US Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo made the statement at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Massachusetts on Wednesday.
Gina Raimondo said China is now the US’s third largest export market, and those exports directly support 750,000 American jobs. Washington is not seeking the decoupling in any way of its economy from that of China's, she said.
The remarks were made as Biden’s administration continues to tighten restrictions on China's access to advanced technologies such as semiconductors.
