At a joint press conference following their talks, President Biden said there is no doubt in America’s mind that Germany is an incredibly reliable ally.

He said Washington and Berlin are ready to continue talks with Russia about security issues in good faith, and insisted diplomacy is the best way forward for everyone, including Russia.   

Chancellor Olaf said the US and Germany are united in taking all necessary steps and using all possible diplomatic opportunities to de-escalate tensions with Russia.
