The United States refused to endorse sections of the statement on climate change and plans to support sustainable development. The US’s decision reflects President Trump's recent announcement to withdraw and immediately cease implementation of the Paris Agreement and associated financial commitments. The US will, however, continue to work with international partners on environmental matters in appropriate ways to protect its economy and the environment.
