This 1 billion USD drawdown will give Ukraine expanded air defense and precision-strike capabilities, as well as additional munitions and critical equipment that Ukraine needs to defend itself on the battlefield.

The aid package was announced following Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's visit to Washington on Wednesday. This is Mr. Zelensky's first trip abroad since Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine in February this year. Since the conflict in Ukraine began, the US has pledged 21.2 billion USD in military aid to Ukraine. 

Denmark will donate 42.8 million USD in military aid to Ukraine, Denmark's Defense Ministry said Wednesday. The money will be delivered via the UK-led International Fund for Ukraine created to provide military equipment and other support to Ukraine's armed forces.

The Kremlin warned Wednesday that increasing the supply of US arms to Ukraine would aggravate the conflict. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that this will not bring positive results and Russia does not see an opportunity for peace negotiations with Ukraine.
