Rallies took pace in some 60 US cities including the Georgia metropolis along with San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit and Portland.

The rallies are part of an initiative on National Day of Action and Healing, following the shootings earlier this month that left eight people dead in Atlanta, including six women of Asian descent, as well as other violent attacks aimed at the Asian American community across the US.

The initiative encourages participants to use #StopAsianHate on social media to raise their followers’ awareness on ending racism and violence targeted toward Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs).
